Kitchen design case study: Telford College
Our brief was to design two kitchen areas for the college. The first incorporated a separate pastry area, island cooking suite and surrounding preparation areas leading to a servery. While mainly used for fine-dining and functions, this kitchen would also be used for training.
The second was training kitchen with separate stations, including one designed for students in wheelchairs. This incorporated worktops, sink and cooking appliances that could be lowered when required. The restaurant kitchen incorporated a separate pastry area, island cooking suite and surrounding preparation areas leading to a servery.

How GLS design a kitchen for your school or college
Our work starts with a meeting to gain an overview of your project, including your operational requirements, budgets, and the building or area within your school or college where the kitchen or bar is to be located.
We’ll develop an initial CAD layout, with options where applicable, and discuss this with you in detail. A more in-depth CAD layout would follow, with an equipment legend and an itemised quotation.
Once costs are agreed and options chosen, a comprehensive services layout is produced detailing the mechanical and electrical requirements.
GLS support you right through to completion… and beyond
Whether you would like us to undertake the installation, or whether you already have an installation team in place, we can provide a designated project manager who will attend meetings, and will liaise with architects and contractors.
Further to completion, we perform a thorough handover, furnishing you with operational manuals and certificates, and arranging equipment training if required.
And once everything is up and running, we’re always just a phone call away if you’ve questions or further requirements.
